Freelancer Bookkeeping Excel Template

Working for yourself means you're the bookkeeper as well. This freelancer bookkeeping spreadsheet keeps that job small: record income, expenses and invoices once, and the dashboard, a monthly profit and loss, your quarterly tax set-aside and a rate calculator are filled in for you. It suits contractors and side hustles as well as full-time freelancers.
Each quarter it multiplies your profit by the set-aside percentage you choose and tells you what to put away; mark a payment as paid and it shows what's still left. Expenses get a deductible percentage by category, with meals set to 50% by default, and missing receipts are flagged. Invoices show Open, Paid or OVERDUE and are grouped by age, from 0 to 30 days up to more than 90, and the rate calculator turns a target income and your billable hours into an hourly and a day rate.
Set up to 12 clients and your own categories, currency and mileage rate. You get a blank workbook, a sample with a fictional year and a quick-start guide, for Microsoft Excel 2010 or newer on Windows and Mac.
