Short-Term Rental Bookkeeping Excel Template

Whether you host guests in a cabin, a city flat or a couple of vacation homes, this short-term rental spreadsheet keeps the books for up to six rentals in one Excel file. Enter every stay and every bill a single time; the dashboard, a monthly P&L per rental, the booking calendar and the tax summary for year end fill in from those entries.
It follows the numbers hosts actually watch: occupancy, average daily rate and RevPAR for each rental and each month, plus average length of stay. A stay from January 30 to February 3 is split properly, two nights to each month. You name your booking platforms and the host fee each one takes, direct bookings included, and lodging taxes you collect are kept apart from your income, with collected and remitted totals.
The calendar puts guest initials on every booked night and turns overlapping stays red, while other checks catch missing dates, too many guests and missing receipts. You get a blank workbook, a sample with a fictional year for three rentals and a quick-start guide, for Microsoft Excel 2010 or newer on Windows and Mac.
